Captive bred birds such as tropical birds, are not indigenous to the USA, we all know that. However, the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) has for years, repeatedly filed proposed federal legislation that would OUTLAW both the breeding of exotic birds, fish, and any other type of animal or mammal that is not indigenous to the USA.
In fact, HSUS works with animal rights groups to stop the selling of animals and pets in general; to stop the commerce that springs from the sale, trade, display, even giving away, or "rescue" of all animals, by claiming it is "profiteering" off the backs of animals and is immoral. In the casebook used in law schools across the country for the Animal Law classes, it has been stated that if the commercial use of animals was outlawed, should the animals then be: 1) put in sanctuaries or 2) sterilized or 3) euthanized ???
Obviously, each of the above would result in extinction of all. So even if animal activists want animals to have absolutely NO interaction with any humans at all--- they would rather see the animals all die than be involved with humans. That alone indicates the true wack jobs in animal rights are not playing with a full deck. Their belief system is simply elevated to the level of hating humans so much they will do anything to get their point across. That explains why PETA kills the animals they "take in." They don't want to save them. If the animals are dead then no human can do anything to them. Thus the leader of Peta, Ingrid Newkirk, easily explains how she worked in an animal shelter and worked overtime so she could kill 1000's of animals to prevent "abuse" of same. Newkirk has repeatedly stated, the BEST gift one can give a "homeless" animal is to kill it.
We see it as too much psychological stress resulting in post traumatic brain dysfunction.
